BGD White Privilege Media Bucket Challenge Annah Anti-Palindrome

Don’t you hate it that the media is filled with people who look nothing like you and rarely presents perspectives of people who do???? Wait. What? That doesn’t happen to you? OH! YOU MUST BE WHITE/STRAIGHT/CISGENDER!

Unfortunately, the rest of us don’t get to see media all around us that includes our voices. For queer and trans people of color, in particular, our voices are rarely heard in mainstream media and even in independent media.

BGD is hoping to help change that with our Editor-In-Training Program, which will train more queer and trans people of color in writing and editing for online media, as well as building successful indie media platforms.

Right now, we’re raising money to fund this important project HERE.

The White Privilege Media Bucket Challenge is a fun way white folks who are practicing solidarity with people of color can help let people know about this project and help support it!

The ball’s already rolling! Join in! Check out these videos and make one of your own! Here’s the basics:

Keep the wording simple (stick to the basic script in these videos so there’s consistency)
Make you video quirky, bring your personality and make it fun!
Challenge three of your friends (give them a 24 or 48 hour deadline to accept/do the challenge!)
